Free Comic Book Day has been happening at Alter Ego Comics since 2006. If this is your first time attending this fun-filled family event, Alter Ego Comics owner, Marc Bowker, is sharing the Top 5 Tips for an awesome FCBD:
Browse the free comics ahead of time on our Facebook Event Page. We’ll start the day with 25 different comics available, and each person can choose four different comics. We do run out of comics throughout the day, so have some backup choices in mind, just in case.
If you want the best selection of free comics, get here early. We open at 10 am, and the line usually starts around 8 am. Don’t be put off by the line - it moves pretty fast, and we’ll have cosplayers out to take pictures with while you wait. Free Comics will be available until 4 pm, or while supplies last.
Speaking of costumes, we encourage you to dress as your favorite comic book character! Why limit costumes to once a year 🙂
Plan on spending some time browsing our big-dollar comic book sale! It only happens twice a year.
Explore some other downtown businesses while you’re here!
318 Restaurant & Bar, C.A.S.A., The Meeting Place on Market, and The Ohio Theater will each have a special comic book that you can only get from them.
Plus, ArtSpace/Lima will have comic book artist, Bryan Moss, running free workshops for kids.
