With the outbreak of COVID-19 and the quarantine measures that followed, many families and friends found their summer vacation plans put on hold. Even as things have largely reopened, many are wary of travel, especially out of the country.
Ultimately, if you’re going to take a vacation and do some traveling before 2020 ends, it’s probably best to stay in the States. The good news is, that still leaves you with plenty to do. You simply need to select the right spot. If you’re looking for a place to visit in Ohio, the Lima area has plenty to offer. Whether you want to enjoy the outdoors, visit some lovely shops, dine at one of our many restaurants, and hit the down for late night drinks, Lima, Ohio is as alive as ever.
Still, it’s best to be safe. Whether you’re visiting our Ohio community, or you traveling elsewhere, here are a few simple guidelines to follow.
Traveling During COVID-19
When you’re booking a hotel or Airbnb, you should check to see what their cleaning protocols are. Everything should be washed, cleaned, and disinfected before you arrive. Truthfully, this should be standard procedure even when there isn’t a nationwide pandemic, but it’s especially important now.
Alternatively, some are choosing to rent an RV instead. This will minimize contact with other people, and it can make traveling long distances much more enjoyable for everyone involved. Though it can be tempting to fly to a destination with the low airline prices that are currently available, this also greatly increases your exposure. Gas prices are still low, so we’d suggest sticking to driving.
Make sure to pack some hand sanitizer and extra masks before you leave. Before entering a public area and after you leave, put a little hand sanitizer on. It’s not a bad idea to have a no-touch thermometer as well. This can help ensure everyone is feeling healthy before you go out.
Though you’re obviously trying to relax and have some fun, it’s important to be respectful of others during this time. Whatever your personal views of the situation might be, please follow the rules and recommendations of the places you visit.
Rather than making pitstops along the way, it’s best to pick a destination area that has everything you need.
As we mentioned before, we truly believe Lima, Ohio has something for everyone. If you’re looking for a fun, affordable, and safe getaway during these troubling times, consider visiting Lima, Ohio. We’re happy to answer any questions and even help you plan your trip.
